As regards the type of boiler to leave that to Mr Chadwick who is better able than I am to express a reliable opinion, but I may state I never proposed that we should get into fluxes.

A teak boiler is working satisfactorily but is rather too small to get the steam required with the class of coal obtained here. A larger grate area and more heating surface would be an advantage.

Coal consumed is about 12 tons per pound per horse power.
